Location: Various Secondary Schools across Northumberland

Start Date: January 2026

Contract: Long-Term Supply / Fixed-Term Contract Options Available

Salary: Roles paying to scale from day one (M1-UPS3)

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, versatile, and highly skilled Design & Technology (D&T) Teacher to join our dedicated supply pool, providing essential long-term cover across our partner secondary schools in the Northumberland area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Design and Technology Teacher to make an immediate impact by covering a broad range of D&T specialisms, including:

  • Food Technology / Catering

  • Resistant Materials / Product Design

  • Textiles Technology

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, practical, and theory-based D&T lessons to students across Key Stage 3 (KS3), Key Stage 4 (KS4 - GCSE), and potentially Key Stage 5 (KS5 - A-Level).



Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated D&T lessons across multiple specialisms.

  • Ensure the safety and proper use of all equipment and machinery in workshops and kitchens.

  • Manage a positive and productive classroom environment, adhering to the school's behaviour policy.

  • Contribute to the departmental marking, assessment, and feedback cycles.

  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations within the practical teaching environment.



What We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification recognised in the UK.

  • A relevant degree in Design & Technology, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.

  • Experience as a Design and Technology Teacher in the UK at GCSE level

  • Support disciplines within D&T such as Food Technology, Resistant Materials, Textiles.

  • A valid and enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one immediately).

  • Right to work in the UK.
