Job Responsibilities
Provide legal advocacy and advice on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council.
Represent the Council in court proceedings and hearings as required.
Draft, review, and manage legal documents and correspondence.
Maintain accurate records and case files in line with professional standards.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and internal policies.
Liaise with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders professionally and promptly.
Keep up-to-date with changes in law and legal practice that affect Council activities.
Person Specification
Must-Have Requirements
Qualified solicitor or barrister, admitted to practice in the UK.
Proven experience in advocacy and legal case management.
Strong understanding of relevant UK law and legal procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Eligibility to work in the UK.
Professional integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g., CIMA, CIPD).
Experience working in local government or public sector legal services.
Driving licence.
