Tax & Accounting Specialist

  • Location: UK and Ireland
  • Job Type: Full-time office based
  • Salary: £60-65,000 OTE

We are seeking a dedicated Tax & Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role involves assisting in the preparation of tax documents and reports for the UK and Ireland, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and providing tax advisory services. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assist in preparing the UK and Ireland working papers for quarterly reporting, with oversight from the Lead Tax Specialist and/or Senior Tax Manager.
  • Support in the preparation of SOX testing and Country by Country as well as Controlled Foreign Companies reporting.
  • Prepare UK GAAP tax disclosures for statutory accounts and annual corporate tax returns for our companies in the UK and Ireland.
  • Review and reconcile external transfer pricing reports and assist with tax payments.
  • Engage in tax advisory work to provide direct tax advice to the Europe business as required.
  • Maintain accurate communication with various internal and external personnel to ensure complete, accurate, and timely indirect tax reporting.
  • Support the Direct Tax team by assisting with ad hoc projects or tasks as required.
  • Maintain an accurate tax calendar for the direct tax team and perform tax research to stay abreast of forthcoming changes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Part-qualified/Qualified in Accounting or Tax (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CTA), working towards full qualification.
  • Minimum of three years relevant work experience.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including look-ups, pivot tables).
  • SAP experience is preferred.
  • Tax accounting and compliance experience is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated and proactive, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
