Be the Voice for Children: Family Court Adviser - Brighton/Surrey

Cafcass is seeking a resilient Family Court Adviser to join our Brighton-based team covering Sussex and Surrey. This role is your chance to ensure children's safety and voices remain at the heart of the family justice system.

The Package
  • Rate: £37 per hour.

  • Term: Temporary contract through 31st March 2026.

  • Hours: 37 hours per week.

  • Benefits: LGPS Pension , up to 33 days leave , and 3 Christmas privilege days.

? Your Impact
  • Safeguard: Conduct risk assessments and agency checks to identify key issues for the court.

  • Advocate: Use social work expertise to understand and represent what a child needs, wants, and feels.

  • Influence: Provide powerful, succinct written case analysis and recommendations to the Family Courts.

Requirements
  • Qualified: Social Work Diploma and active SWE registration.

  • Experience: Ideally 3+ years post-qualifying in child protection.

  • Skills: Experience with Section 7 reports, care proceedings, and giving evidence in court.

  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS (within 12 months) and UK Right to Work.

Location: Monthly attendance at the Brighton Office; in-person visits to children across Sussex/Surrey.
