We are seeking experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) to join a dynamic Clinical Assessment Service (CAS) delivering rapid, safe, and effective telephone triage for patients requiring urgent or same-day clinical support.
This role offers a balance of autonomy, clinical complexity, and flexibility, with an initial onsite training period followed by remote working once fully signed off.
About the Role
As part of the CAS team, you will provide senior-level clinical triage, supporting safe streaming of patients and ensuring they are directed to the most appropriate care pathway.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct telephone-based clinical assessments for undifferentiated, urgent, and complex presentations.
- Apply advanced clinical reasoning to determine safe next steps, such as:
- self-care advice
- remote prescribing (where qualified)
- allocating same-day or routine appointments
- escalating to ED, UCC, mental health, or community services
- Provide clinical oversight and support for call handlers and other triage clinicians.
- Deliver disposition revalidation and clinical safety-netting within CAS workflows.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to governance, safeguarding, and audit processes.
- Participate in quality improvement, service development initiatives, and clinical case reviews.
Working Arrangements
- Initial shifts based onsite in London to complete training, shadowing, and clinical sign-off.
- Once competencies are met, the role transitions to remote working.
- Flexible shift patterns available, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Registered ANP with MSc/PGDip in Advanced Practice (or equivalent).
- Experience in urgent care, primary care, ED, CAS, 111, or telephone triage.
- Strong autonomous decision-making and risk-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence managing undifferentiated cases remotely.
Preferred
- Independent Prescriber (V300).
- Previous CAS or 111/CAS disposition revalidation experience.
Pay Rates
- £33 - £54 per hour, depending on experience, shift type, and IR35 status.
