We're looking for a Proposition Development Manager to join our team.
What it's like to work here
As we work to deliver our People and Nature Thriving strategy to 2035, this is a pivotal time for fundraising growth at the National Trust. Last year, a new proposition development team was established in recognition of the need to build compelling packages of support upstream in the engagement of funders at all levels. One year in, the team operates on high challenge and high support, working in lockstep with one another to drive change at the Trust.
Your contractual location will be our Head Office in Swindon. However, there is flexibility on where you are based. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
What you'll be doing
Propositions set out compelling opportunities for funders at all levels to support the National Trust. To deliver our ambitious People and Nature Thriving strategy to 2035, we must grow our fundraising revenue. Propositions are an essential lever to achieving income growth, and as such it is important that we have a clear and compelling portfolio of funding priorities and propositions.
In this role you'll be working in a small team developing new propositions and proposals for external funders at all levels, including Corporations, Major Donors, Grant Makers, Trusts & Foundations and the general public. You'll be supporting the Head of Proposition Development and working with core fundraising teams to enable fundraisers to develop propositions themselves. You'll ensure your propositions algin with broader National Trust strategy, working with senior leaders to understand funding opportunities relevant to donor motivations.
Your day to day will be varied, from holding workshops, to analysing complex budgets, to crafting compelling stories and narratives. All in the pursuit of crafting accurate, impactful and inspiring packages of support that resonate with our audiences. You'll engage with project, programme and finance teams to embed proposition development in ways of working. You'll provide coaching and training to colleagues within fundraising and beyond, to help create a community of practice for colleagues working on propositions across the National Trust.
