This temporary contract role is designed to cover short-term teaching, providing practical instruction with a strong focus on bench joinery. You will plan, deliver, and assess lessons, monitor learner progress, and provide constructive feedback to support apprentices in developing their skills and confidence.

The Role

• Deliver practical and theory Carpentry and Joinery sessions to Level 1 and Level 2 learners

• Provide hands-on instruction with a focus on bench joinery techniques

• Use existing schemes of work and lesson plans aligned to curriculum and awarding body standards

• Assess learner work and provide constructive feedback

• Monitor learner progress and support learner development

• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and compliant workshop environment

The Person

• Qualified in Carpentry and Joinery, with bench joinery experience

• Holds a recognised teaching qualification

• Experience delivering in FE or a similar training setting

• Confident supporting learners with different abilities

• Available to work 23 hours per week on a short-term contract

• Able to start immediately, subject to pre-employment checks
