Motor Vehicle Lecturer (Contract)

Slough, site based

40-45 per hour, depending on experience

37 hours per week, temporary contract for 13-14 weeks initially, with potential to extend or go permanent

Do you want to deliver high-quality practical and theory lessons to apprentices and learners, focusing on developing workshop skills and technical knowledge, without being overloaded with unnecessary administrative duties?

This well-regarded further education college is seeking a Motor Vehicle Lecturer to join their engineering and automotive department. The college is structured, well-resourced, and supportive, providing existing schemes of work and teaching materials so contract lecturers can focus on delivery and learner progress.

This temporary contract role is designed to cover delivery of motor vehicle programmes. You will teach practical and theory sessions, support learner development, and ensure learners progress confidently through their programme.

The Role

  • Deliver practical and theory Motor Vehicle sessions to FE learners

  • Use existing schemes of work and lesson plans aligned to curriculum and awarding body standards

  • Support learners in developing practical workshop skills and technical knowledge

  • Provide constructive feedback and support learner progression

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and compliant workshop environment

The Person

  • Recognised FE teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one

  • Experience teaching or lecturing in Motor Vehicle or automotive programmes

  • Practical motor vehicle skills and experience

  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage and motivate learners

  • Immediately available to start
