Job Description

GBR Recruitment are working in partnership with a well established & highly progressive mild & stainless steel framework manufacturing & installation business, based in the heart of the East Midlands, recruiting for a Tekla & AutoCAD Technician to join their steels fabrication & build workshop team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Tekla & AutoCAD steels engineering professional to work on producing Tekla & AutoCAD drawings & production packs, plus project coordination & project management, producing take off lists, ordering steels & fixings to be used in the construction / fabrication of steel frameworks.

This steel engineering / construction business works to BS EN 1090-2:2018 ex2 producing high quality steel frameworks used in various construction industries.

This role is for a design professional who is working in or has worked in steel construction / steel erecting & steel fabrication (one or more of in steel works).

Duties:

  • Producing technical drawings / designs using Tekla & AutoCAD design software
  • Supporting the implementation of new technical drawing systems / working processes
  • Producing job sheets / job packs for the Steel production team using Tekla & AutoCAD software
  • Produce take off lists, plus ordering steels, metals & fixings.
  • Complete galvanising lists & fixing lists
  • Follow QA / QC systems
  • Complete technical documentation
  • Project coordinating / management
  • Complete non-conformance documents when necessary
  • Attend production / workshop meetings as part of the design team

Qualifications / Attributes:

  • Strong in using Tekla & AutoCAD design software (Tekla design software experience is a must have)
  • Steel fabrication & Steel engineering / construction experience
  • BS1090 ex2. workshop compliance knowledge / experience
  • ISO 9001 knowledge & experience
  • Understanding of Steel Workshop processes
