Science Technician

• Annual Salary: from £13.39 per hour
• Location: Near Brighton and Hove
• Job Type: Temporary, Full-time (26th February to Easter initially)

We are seeking a dedicated Science Technician to support our dynamic science department across Year 7 to Year 13 classes. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in science and a passion for education.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Prepare materials and equipment for science experiments and demonstrations.
• Assist in the maintenance and organisation of science laboratories.
• Ensure that all safety protocols are followed during lab activities.
• Support teachers during lessons by setting up equipment and helping manage classroom activities.
• Manage the stock of science supplies and coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of necessary materials.
• Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety procedures in the science department.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Must hold a Science degree or experience working in labs.
• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a laboratory setting.
