An elite US law firm is seeking a highly accomplished International Arbitration Solicitor to join its market-leading London disputes practice.

Client Details

The team advises on high-value, complex and multi-jurisdictional arbitrations, with a strong emphasis on energy, mining, infrastructure, financial services, and general commercial disputes.

The ideal candidate will bring exceptional technical ability and substantial experience acting on international arbitrations under leading institutional rules. Fluency in French is essential.

Description

  • Handle major commercial and investment treaty arbitrations in the energy and mining sectors, including disputes involving upstream and downstream oil & gas, LNG projects, power generation, renewables, and natural resources development.
  • Advise on international arbitration matters seated in major arbitral centres (London, Paris, Geneva, Singapore, Dubai).
  • Act on arbitrations conducted under ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, ICSID, SIAC, and other rules.
  • Draft pleadings, written advocacy, witness statements, expert instructions, and procedural submissions.
  • Work directly with partners on case strategy, industry-specific issues, and cross-border matters.
  • Engage with technical experts (e.g., quantum, geological, engineering) particularly relevant to energy and mining disputes.

Profile

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or common-law jurisdiction with ability to requalify).
  • 2-6 years PQE.
  • Proven experience in complex international arbitration, ideally with exposure to energy and mining disputes.
  • Fluent French with ability to draft and negotiate in French.
  • Strong academic background from a leading institution.
  • Excellent written advocacy, drafting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance US-firm environment.
  • Strong commercial judgment and client-facing capability.
