School Maintenance Assistant

Permanent Part-Time (30 hours per week) Salary: £23,278 - £24,756 (actual)

Reed is delighted to be supporting one of our long-standing education clients in appointing a dedicated School Maintenance Assistant. Our client is a large, welcoming and diverse primary education setting that prides itself on providing a safe, well-maintained and positive environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

This role is ideal for someone with a hands-on, proactive approach who enjoys being part of a busy site team and takes pride in maintaining high standards across a school environment.

  • Flexible and comfortable handling a variety of site and premises duties
  • Energetic, solution-focused and happy to support wherever needed

Key Responsibilities

Working as part of the premises and estates team, your duties will include:

  • General site and building maintenance, indoors and outdoors
  • Supporting safe operations across the site and following Health & Safety procedures
  • Key-holding responsibilities including opening and closing the site
  • Assisting with minor repairs and general "handyperson" tasks
  • Helping move furniture, equipment and deliveries
  • Supporting and supervising the cleaning team when required
  • Liaising with external contractors under the guidance of the Estates Lead
  • Occasionally providing cover across other sites within the organisation if needed

Hours & Working Pattern

  • 30 hours per week (all year round)
  • Working hours can be arranged flexibly within operational needs - typically falling between 07:00 and 18:00
  • Additional hours may be available and can be negotiated for the right candidate
