We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established children s residential care provider for an experienced Registered Manager Intake & Assessment to lead the admissions and assessment service in Birmingham.
This key leadership role involves overseeing the intake process, ensuring each child receives a safe, appropriate placement supported by comprehensive assessments that promote wellbeing and positive long-term outcomes.
Role OverviewAs Registered Manager, you will be responsible for managing the intake and assessment procedures, ensuring all placements are child-centred, compliant with Ofsted regulations, and meet the individual needs of each child. You will collaborate with local authorities, families, and internal teams to facilitate smooth transitions and deliver high-quality care from the outset.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage all intake, referral, and assessment processes for new admissions
Ensure placements are safe, appropriate, and tailored to individual needs
Maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding standards
Lead, support, and develop staff to provide excellent care
Build and maintain professional relationships with commissioners and stakeholders
Oversee care planning, risk management, and placement transitions
Promote continuous improvement and maintain high service standards
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Experience managing or deputising within a children s residential setting
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted standards, and regulatory compliance
Proven leadership, assessment, and decision-making skills
