Teaching Assistant (Maternity Cover) - Hunslet, Leeds working 4 days a weekStart Date: 9th March 2026End Date: July 2026Working Pattern: 4 days per week (must include Monday & Tuesday - remaining days flexible)Year Group: Year 2/3 (with some potential 1:1 support)Contract Type: Temporary (Maternity Cover)Location: Hunslet, LeedsAbout the RoleHays Education is working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Hunslet, Leeds, who are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Year 2/3 team from 9th March 2026 until July to cover maternity leave.This role is primarily general classroom support within a mixed Year 2/3 class, assisting the teacher with day-to-day learning activities, small group work, and classroom preparation. There may also be occasional 1:1 support, depending on pupil needs, but the majority of the role will be general TA responsibilities.The school can be flexible on the four working days, but Monday and Tuesday are essential.Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning
• Work with small groups of pupils to reinforce learning
• Provide occasional 1:1 support where required
• Assist with classroom preparation, displays, and resources
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, supportive classroom environment
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

What We're Looking For

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant (KS1/KS2 experience desirable)
• A caring, patient, and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the class
• Availability to work Monday and Tuesday plus two additional days
