About the Role
We are seeking a motivated, confident and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our friendly and supportive team in Southampton. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children reach their potential and who enjoys working collaboratively within a vibrant school environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support high-quality learning across the school, deliver planned learning activities, and lead whole-class teaching when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality learning activities under the direction of teaching staff.
- Lead whole-class teaching during teacher absence, PPA cover or intervention sessions.
- Plan, prepare and deliver small-group support and targeted interventions.
- Support the assessment of pupils' progress and provide feedback to teachers.
- Help create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
- Work effectively as part of a wider staff team, contributing to the school community.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds a recognised HLTA qualification (or is working towards it).
- Has strong classroom management skills and the confidence to lead whole-class learning.
- Demonstrates excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
- Is passionate about supporting children's academic, social and emotional development.
- Is flexible, proactive and committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
