Our client is a leading waste management business supporting customers across the UK with compliant, safe, and sustainable waste solutions. With a strong focus on operational excellence and environmental responsibility, they play a critical role in managing complex waste streams within a regulated environment.

They are now looking to appoint a Technical Assessor to join their onsite technical team in Staffordshire.



The Role

Working closely with technical, operational, and commercial teams, the Technical Assessor will be responsible for reviewing and assessing waste enquiries to ensure accurate classification, compliance with permits, and alignment with current legislation.

This is a detail-focused, technical role combining waste assessment, documentation, and internal stakeholder support within a fast-paced, regulated environment.



What You'll Be Doing

  • Assess and re-assess waste enquiries in line with WM3 and relevant legislation

  • Accurately classify waste streams and confirm suitability against site permits

  • Identify compliant and cost-effective disposal routes

  • Provide technical advice and guidance to internal teams

  • Produce technical reports and supporting documentation where required

  • Support compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures

  • Ensure all activity aligns with regulatory requirements and site licences

  • Maintain technical competence and ongoing professional development



What They're Looking For

  • Previous experience in waste assessment, technical compliance, or a regulated environment

  • Strong understanding of waste classification and environmental legislation (or willingness to learn)

  • High attention to detail with a methodical, organised approach

  • Confident communicating technical information to non-technical colleagues

  • Comfortable working full-time in an onsite role

  • Proactive mindset with a strong focus on compliance and accuracy
