Job Description

We're looking for a Business Support Executive to join us.

You won't be asked to just replicate old patterns of "EA" work, we're looking for fresh thinking, adaptability and an action orientated mindset. There will be a fair amount of support and diary management, but you'll also immerse yourself in our growth portfolio and seek out opportunities to get involved.

Internally you'll be know as Directorate Services Manager.

What it's like to work here

You'll join a collaborative community that values different perspectives and lived experiences. We prioritise inclusion and a culture where people feel welcome, listened to and supported. You'll work closely with our Director of Experience and Revenue and their leadership team, and you'll connect with other Directorate Services Managers and business partners to keep things integrated and moving with purpose. You'll be encouraged to bring ideas, use technology confidently, and develop your skills through coaching and hands-on experience because curiosity and growth mindsets matter here as well as prior experience.

There is flexibility on your contractual place of work. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We'll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40-60% of your working week.

What you'll be doing

You'll drive logistical and strategic support for our Director of Experience and Revenue and their leadership team, ensuring the directorate runs efficiently with clear priorities and smart resource deployment. You'll take the lead in coordinating cross functional teams to deliver E&R events, monthly directorate meetings, XLT workshops, and development days making sure every interaction is well planned and high impact.

You'll proactively shape the directorate calendar and key moments, keeping the team aligned, informed and ready. You'll champion effective resource use, maintain robust record and archive management, and role model excellent service standards continually challenging how we work to save time, money, and effort.

You'll build strong, collaborative relationships across internal teams and external partners, communicate with clarity at every level, and actively contribute and coordinate across a large portfolio to connect with people across all regions and countries, not just the E&R directorate. Alongside support and diary management, you'll seek out opportunities to streamline processes through technology, elevate briefing materials with meaningful insight, and lean into projects that excite you, adding value well beyond the expected.

Who we're looking for

Applications from redeployees are assessed against the minimum criteria for the role. In your application, please provide details of how you meet the criteria below:

  • Experience in administrative or business services role with the ability to add value beyond diary management, getting involved where your thinking can move work ahead
  • Ability to build trust fast and form strong relationships at all levels, communicating with clarity so the right people have the right context at the right time
  • Ability to connect day-to-day actions to the bigger picture, anticipating risk and opportunities
