Network & Systems Engineer - Real Estate/Construction - London

£65,000-£77,000 + Discretionary Bonus & Benefits

The Business

Our client is a well-established London based construction firm delivering high-quality new build, refurbishment and fit-out projects ranging from £1m-£60m. Its client portfolio includes globally recognised brands and international recognised prestigious institutions.

The Role

Part of a small team of 3, the Network & Systems Administrator will take ownership of the day-to-day operation, security and continuous improvement of the company's IT infrastructure.

This is a hands-on technical role supporting both head office and live construction sites. Reporting to the IT Director, the successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, third-party suppliers and consultants to ensure systems are secure, reliable and scalable.

The role requires a strong technical foundation, a proactive mindset and the ability to balance infrastructure leadership with high-level technical support.

Key Responsibilities

Network & Infrastructure

  • Implement, manage and support Fortinet solutions including FortiGate Firewalls, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer and FortiClient VPN
  • Manage Firewall policies, SD-WAN, VPNs (site-to-site and client), and network segmentation

Systems & Cloud

  • Administer Windows Server environments including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and file services
  • Support virtualised environments
  • Assist with Azure resource administration

Cyber Security & Best Practice

IT Operations support assistance

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Network/Systems Administrator or similar role
  • Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet products, particularly FortiGate Firewalls and VPNs
  • Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, Firewalling)
  • Strong understanding of cyber security fundamentals and best practice
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Hyper-V or Vmware and Active Directory
  • Experience delivering 3rd line support in a business environment
