Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a well respected consultancy in their search for an Assistant Planner to join their London-based team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career planning professional to develop their experience within a highly regarded consultancy, working on a wide range of projects across the residential, commercial, mixed-use and regeneration sectors throughout London.
The RoleAs an Assistant Planner, you will support senior members of the team in delivering planning advice and managing applications across a diverse project portfolio. You will gain hands-on experience across the full planning lifecycle, from initial site appraisals through to submission and determination.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssisting in the preparation of planning applications and appeals
Supporting site appraisals and planning research
Reviewing planning policy and development plan documents
Undertaking site visits where required
Supporting senior colleagues on a variety of projects
Liaising with clients, consultants and Local Planning Authorities
Monitoring planning legislation and policy updates
A relevant degree in Town Planning or related discipline
Working towards MRTPI Chartership (or willingness to do so)
Some previous planning experience (placement or professional) desirable
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proactive and organised approach to work
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Exposure to a varied and high-quality project portfolio
