Production Technician

My client are a pioneering company with over 35 years of expertise in designing and manufacturing electronic testing instruments. They are seeking a skilled Production Technician to assemble specialist devices. Day-to-day of the role:
- Assemble and test in-house product builds to defined specifications of our new and existing product range, ensuring completion to specification in line with set key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Conduct quality inspections on both components and assemblies.
- Accurately and methodically visually inspect/troubleshoot during the build of products.
- Compile and report any inconsistencies that prevent successful builds or performance of a product as required by Work Instructions (WIRs) and our Quality Management System (QMS).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Skilled in microscope-assisted soldering of fine wires, specifically 38 AWG micro-coax; practical proficiency will be assessed.
- Minimum 2 years+ electronics experience in a production environment with hands-on assembly experience.
- Proficiency in soldering SMD components including fine pitch devices, preferably trained to IPC-A-610.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
- Competence with using digital multi-meter, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and other common electronics lab equipment.
- Experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS), such as ISO.
- Understanding of ESD safe handling practices and stock control functions.
- PC literate with experience in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and product quality.
