Are you an experienced HV Electrical Engineer within rail looking to step into a senior technical leadership role?

Do you have the competence to act as CRE or CEM on complex traction power and rail HV electrification projects?

Salary: £70,000-£100,000 per annum + car allowance
Location: Chatham, Kent, with a minimum of 4 days in the office per week

I am working with a well-established rail engineering business that is looking to appoint a Senior HV E&P Engineer to replace a retiring specialist within their team. This role will play a key part in delivering a long-term pipeline of electrification and power projects across the rail network.

This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of technically challenging HV infrastructure projects while working alongside a well-established delivery team including design engineers, test and commissioning specialists, and project managers.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 8 years experience within rail HV electrification and power (E&P) engineering
• Strong HV substation or traction power experience
• Competence as CRE C or CRE D (mandatory)
• Experience operating in a CEM role or ability to step into this position (e.g. CRE wi
• Project engineering experience across rail infrastructure schemes
• Strong understanding of rail engineering standards and compliance requirements
• Experience managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously

Desirable Experience

• Chartered Engineer status (or working towards)
• Experience leading engineering teams or line management responsibilities
• Experience working for Tier 1 contractors or specialist traction power organisations
