Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can truly change a young person's life? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant or Support Worker to provide 1:1 support at a specialist SEMH School in Blackburn.
Whether you are qualified or unqualified, if you have a background in care, youth work, or education and a "can-do" attitude, we want to hear from you. You will be working with students who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges, helping them engage with learning and manage their wellbeing.
Providing tailored 1:1 support to a student within a classroom setting.
Building a strong, trusting rapport to help reduce anxiety and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
Assisting the Class Teacher with daily activities and progress tracking.
Acting as a positive role model and mentor.
Experience: Previous experience as a Support Worker, TA, or working with SEN/SEMH is a bonus, but not essential if you have the right transferable skills.
Personality: Resilient, empathetic, and patient. You should be able to stay calm under pressure.
Flexibility: Ability to commit to a consistent shift (either 7:30am or 8:30am start).
Compliance: A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
