Support Worker - Day Services (Halifax, Rastrick & Hebden Bridge)

Pay Rate: £13.26 per hour

Hours: 8 x 37hr roles (Mon-Fri, 08:30-17:00)

Contract: 12-month opportunity

Locations:

  • Higgins Close, Halifax, HX1 2ES
  • Lower Edge Day Centre, Shannon Road, Rastrick, HD6 3LD
  • Royd Square, Bond Street, Hebden Bridge, HX7 7DE

Part-time considered if full days can be worked.

About the Role

This is a fun, rewarding and active support role within Day Services, working with older adults-many living with dementia and complex needs. You'll be part of a warm, established team known for excellent feedback and a vibrant, people-focused culture.

You'll support individuals with personal care, emotional wellbeing, meaningful activities, and helping them stay engaged in the community.

Essential Skills & Experience

To be successful, candidates will need:

  • Basic training:
  • Moving & Handling
  • Safeguarding
  • Infection Prevention
  • Cafita training desirable
  • Dementia awareness (essential due to service needs)
  • Experience supporting people with complex mental and/or physical health needs
  • Strong background in:
  • Community care
  • Residential care
  • Supported living

This role isn't suitable for new or inexperienced care workers.

Desirable Skills
  • Experience supporting individuals with primary health needs
  • Clinical experience (no nursing registration required)
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
  • Driver (desirable, not essential)
