Banqueting Waiting Staff

  • Location: Central London prestigious venues
  • Department: Events & Banqueting
  • Reports to: Banqueting Supervisor / Event Manager
  • Employment Type: Flexible temporary work
  • Salary: £14.50 per hour plus additional pay for holiday

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide exceptional table service during banquets, receptions, and private events.
  • Set up event spaces, including laying tables, arranging chairs, preparing service stations, and ensuring all areas meet venue standards.
  • Serve food and beverages professionally and efficiently, adhering to event briefs and service sequences.
  • Support various service styles including silver service, fine dining, or buffet service (training provided if required).
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly and courteously to all requests.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the event schedule and service flow.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, chefs, and fellow staff to ensure each event runs smoothly.
  • Uphold health, safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations at all times.
  • Represent the venue with professionalism, discretion, and a polished personal appearance.

  • Previous hospitality or customer service experience (banqueting or fine dining preferred).
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Professional appearance and confident, warm customer-facing manner.
  • Ability to remain calm, organised, and focused during busy service periods.

Desirable:

  • Experience in luxury hotels, private members' clubs, high-end events, or similar environments.
  • Knowledge of service styles such as silver service and wine service.
