We are working with a well-established and growing property services business seeking to appoint a Head of RCA Surveying to lead and develop a national team.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for both technical delivery and team performance. The successful candidate will play a key part in driving quality, consistency and growth across a specialist surveying function, while acting as a trusted support to the senior leadership team.
The Role
- Lead and manage a national team of RCA Surveyors
- Oversee the delivery of high-quality reinstatement cost assessments and associated reporting
- Provide technical leadership and guidance across the team
- Support complex or high-value instructions where required
- Work closely with senior leadership on process improvement and operational efficiency
- Ensure all work is delivered in line with RICS standards, company procedures and legal requirements
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients
- Contribute to business development, identifying opportunities to expand services and win new work
- Drive team performance, capability development and continuous improvement
This is a hands-on leadership role, combining operational oversight with technical involvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake property surveys and produce detailed RCA reports
- Ensure compliance with all relevant professional and regulatory standards
- Manage team performance, ensuring high levels of customer service and technical accuracy
- Support and develop surveyors through mentoring and ongoing professional development
- Build effective working relationships across property management and operational teams
- Contribute to wider business objectives, including growth and service development
Candidate Profile
- MRICS qualified
- Strong background in building surveying within property management and/or insurance environments
- Proven experience delivering RCA instructions across a range of property types
- Previous experience managing or leading teams
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to report at senior level
- Solid understanding of health and safety legislation, including CDM
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience in insurance-related works (such as fire or flood remediation) is advantageous
- Comfortable working across both strategic and operational responsibilities
