Python Engineer - 6 month contract £575 outsideir35 - Glasgow/Edinburgh
We're recruiting a Python Engineer to support a major public sector digital automation programme.
You'll be building and improving Python-based automation services that use AI (OCR/LLMs/document processing) to remove manual effort from high-volume workflows.
What you'll be doing:
- Building Back End Python services and automation pipelines
- Applying OCR and LLMs to real-world document processing
- Working with AWS (Lambda, S3, monitoring) in live environments
- Supporting and improving production systems
What we're looking for:
- Strong Python engineering experience (production systems)
- Hands-on exposure to AI/ML (OCR, LLMs, document analysis)
- AWS experience (serverless or containerised services)
- Comfortable supporting live services in an agile team
This is a hands-on engineering role, ideal for someone who enjoys solving practical problems with Python and applied AI.
