Team Leader - Welfare & Safeguarding
Location: Crowborough
Salary: 46,800pa
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are recruiting a proactive Team Leader - Welfare & Safeguarding to oversee the welfare, safeguarding, and administration of a large cohort of Service Users.

You will lead a team of welfare staff and subcontractors, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and compliance. Working to Standard Operating Procedures, you will respond to issues, coordinate interventions, and maintain a safe, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Service User Support

  • Manage a caseload, ensuring welfare, safety, and wellbeing
  • Conduct welfare checks and accommodation visits
  • Signpost to medical and support services
  • Arrange transport, relocations, and move-on processes
  • Report incidents, issues, and absences

Team Leadership & Site Management

  • Lead the welfare team, including rota planning and supervision
  • Provide training and ensure performance standards
  • Oversee accommodation maintenance, safety, and compliance
  • Conduct inspections and manage repairs
  • Support effective property and void management

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with internal teams, external agencies, and stakeholders
  • Attend meetings and maintain strong partnerships

Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Ensure property certification compliance
  • Respond to communications and operational updates
  • Uphold data protection and confidentiality

Emergency & Operational Support

  • Provide leadership during emergencies (including 24-hour availability if required)
  • Support wider team operations and provide cover when needed

About You

  • Experience in a Team Leader/Supervisory role (welfare, housing, or support services preferred)
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and duty of care awareness
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage teams and work under pressure
  • Confident engaging with stakeholders and agencies
  • Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused
  • IT literate with strong record-keeping skills
