Accounts Assistant

We are delighted to be working with a fantastic growing organisation to hire its new Accounts Assistant.

Role Overview

The Accounts Assistant will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their accounting career within a fast-paced, operationally focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

• Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Match purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices
• Prepare payment runs and reconcile supplier statements
• Handle supplier queries and maintain strong relationships

Accounts Receivable

• Raise and issue customer invoices
• Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding payments
• Allocate incoming payments and reconcile discrepancies

Banking & Reconciliation

• Perform daily bank reconciliations
• Post and reconcile cash receipts and payments
• Assist with cash flow tracking

General Finance Support

• Assist with month-end processes, including journal entries and accruals
• Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
• Support audits and provide documentation as required
• Assist in payroll administration

Key Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in an accounts or finance role
• Understanding of basic accounting principles
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

Qualifications

• AAT qualification (or studying towards) is desirable but not essential
• GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English
