Job Description

What You'll Do

  • Perform soldering, crimping, and mechanical/cable assemblies in accordance with IPC-A-610 standards
  • Deliver training to teams on production methods and best practices
  • Take a forward-thinking approach, identifying skill gaps required for new projects/products
  • Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings; provide feedback to align with production standards
  • Work in accordance with Job Cards, drawings, test plans, technical instructions, and process documents
  • Inspect component parts and identify defects during manufacturing and assembly
  • Create detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Inspect components and sub-assemblies to quality standards, tolerances, and specifications
  • Kit parts, tools, and equipment to ensure correct and compliant assembly
  • Act as a key liaison between Engineering and Production to ensure smooth product transfer
  • Ensure wiring looms meet required dimensional and visual standards
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and communicate effectively
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and operating costs
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant working environment (H&S)
  • Support additional operational tasks as required
  • Deliver high-quality work within agreed deadlines
  • Record and report defects accurately
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
What You'll Need
  • Ability to obtain UK security clearance
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a technical production role
  • Advanced experience in manufacturing, assembly, repair, or modification of electronic systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Proficiency with hand tools and test equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic and mechanical drawings
  • Knowledge of electronic components
  • Experience creating detailed documentation from specifications and drawings
  • Basic understanding of electrical and electronic principles
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Competence in IPC 610 and IPC 620 standards
  • Strong multitasking ability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn, develop, and progress
