SEMH Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)
Location: Longsight, Manchester
Start Date: ASAP
Setting: Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)

We are a specialist education recruitment agency currently working in partnership with a Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Longsight, Manchester, who are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and is looking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and structured environment.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and tailored lessons
  • Support pupils in managing behaviour and developing emotional regulation skills
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • A proactive and flexible attitude
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
