Are you a HLTA looking for your next role in the Birmingham area?

Winner Education are working with a secondary PRU in the B33 area who are seeking an experienced and resilient Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to start as soon as possible. This is a long-term opportunity, working with pupils whom present challenging behaviour and SEMH needs.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

What You ll Do:
  • Deliver and support planned lessons in the absence of a teacher, following set schemes of work

  • Provide classroom leadership and manage behaviour effectively within a PRU setting

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour to engage positively in learning

  • Work with small groups and on a one-to-one basis where required

  • Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils to promote engagement and progress

  • Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to implement behaviour and support strategies

  • Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

What We re Looking For:
  • HLTA status or substantial experience working at HLTA level

  • Experience working with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or PRU/alternative provision settings

  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach

  • Resilience, patience, and the ability to remain professional in challenging situations

  • A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable young people
