Workshop Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical)
Dursley - Workshop-based - Days, M-F - Full time, permanent - £30,000 to £40,000 DOE + benefits
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit a Workshop Engineer to support refurbishment, maintenance and repair of specialist vehicles and associated equipment.
This role is suited to a practical, hands-on engineer with either mechanical or electrical experience, looking to develop within a specialist fleet environment.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical and/or electrical engineering work on specialist vehicles
- Support full refurbishment and rebuild projects
- Diagnose faults and carry out robust repairs
- Install, modify and maintain vehicle systems and components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and job packs
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard with a focus on safety and quality
The Person
- Experience in a workshop or engineering environment
- Mechanical and/or electrical skillset
- Ability to fault-find and carry out repairs independently
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
Desirable
- Engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical or similar)
- Experience with vehicles, plant or heavy equipment
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics or auto electrics
