Microsoft D365 F&O Architect - 6 months, Manchester(Hybrid) - InsideIR35

Opportunity to join a greenfield implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations for a major UK-based online retailer. The organisation operates multiple brands across clothing, footwear, and homeware, serving customers through web, mobile, and contact centre channels.

This role will suit a senior architect with strong ERP delivery experience, capable of leading end-to-end solution architecture across complex, multi-channel retail environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the overall solution architecture roadmap covering customisation, configuration, integration, infrastructure, and reporting.
  • Lead architectural governance, including design authority participation and best-practice enforcement.
  • Conduct fit-gap analysis, solution assessment, and effort estimation across workstreams.
  • Provide technical leadership across business, partners, and internal delivery teams during implementation.
  • Define integration patterns and guide appropriate use of ISV solutions versus custom development.
  • Support functional teams in requirements gathering and translate them into scalable solution designs.
  • Evaluate total cost of ownership (TCO) and ensure alignment with cloud strategy and enterprise architecture.

Skills & Experience

  • 10-15 years' experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations implementations.
  • Proven experience leading solution architecture on large-scale ERP programmes with enterprise stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of Dynamics 365 architecture, extensibility patterns, and integration frameworks.
  • Experience delivering complex multi-module deployments (Finance, Supply Chain, Production).
  • Strong understanding of multi-country rollouts and hybrid cloud/on-premise landscapes.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Lifecycle Services (LCS).

  • Location: Manchester (3 day onsite)
  • Duration: 6 months
  • Daily Rate: £600 per day Inside IR35
