A supportive and forward thinking school in Heywood is seeking a Youth Worker to work with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support on a full time basis.
This role is ideal for individuals who have experience engaging young people in community, youth or outreach settings and can act as a consistent, positive role model. You will work closely with pupils at risk of exclusion or those transitioning back into mainstream education and you will be able to demonstrate you are someone who can build trust, promote resilience and encourage positive routines.
As a Youth Worker, you will focus on supporting behaviour both on a 1:1 basis and as part of a whole school approach. You will help pupils develop positive routines, regulate their emotions and re engage with learning. Many pupils will have social, emotional or behavioural needs, and may have experienced challenges in previous settings.
This is a dynamic role that suits someone who can stay calm, communicate effectively and adapt to the needs of different individuals.
Key ResponsibilitiesYouth Workers often bring strong communication skills, emotional intelligence and the ability to connect with young people who need consistency and understanding. Your experience in de escalation, mentoring and youth engagement is highly valued within a school environment.
