Risk Officer

Role Purpose

• Support the organisation with day-to-day risk management across its sites.
• Speak with managers and budget holders to understand operational risks and turn that into clear, usable risk information.
• Keep the risk register up to date so leaders have an accurate view of current issues and actions.
  
  

Main Duties

• Meet with managers across different departments to gather information on their current risks.
• Translate operational issues, such as staffing gaps or lower student recruitment, into formal risk language and scoring.
• Update and maintain the risk register with accurate risk details, actions, owners and scores.
• Input and manage risk data on the risk management system, making sure records are clear and up to date.
• Visit other sites when needed to gather information and support risk activity across the wider organisation.
• Work in a hands-on, operational way rather than at strategy level, helping teams manage everyday risks.
  
  

Requirements

• Must have already an Enhanced DBS on the update service
• Able to start at short notice
• Strong understanding of risk terminology, including causes, effects, controls, actions and scoring
• Confident working with managers and budget holders, with the people skills to gather and translate risk information
• Good data handling and admin skills, with the ability to input and manage information accurately on systems
• Full right to work in the UK
