About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Reconciliation Assistant to join our finance team in Cardiff. This role is ideal for someone with strong numerical skills and a keen eye for accuracy, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and internal systems
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes
- Liaise with internal departments to resolve reconciliation queries
- Support continuous improvement of reconciliation processes and controls
Requirements
- Previous experience in a finance or reconciliation role preferred
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, SAP, or similar)
- AAT qualification (or working towards)
