Caf Assistant
Role Purpose
To support the smooth daily running of Vibe Caf by delivering friendly customer service, preparing food and drinks, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and professionalism in a public-facing council environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
Deliver warm, friendly and professional service to all customers
Operate tills accurately and handle cash and card payments responsibly
Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, appearance and conduct
Respond positively and politely to customer requests and queries
Food & Beverage Preparation
Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks, light meals and snacks
Follow approved recipes, portion control and presentation standards
Support healthier menu options and allergen awareness
Cleanliness & Safety
Maintain cleanliness of caf , kitchen, seating and storage areas
Follow food safety, allergen and hygiene procedures at all times
Support daily and weekly cleaning schedules and safety checks
Team Support & Training
Work cooperatively as part of a small on-site team
Participate fully in training and development
Support colleagues during busy periods and maintain team standards
Remain calm, professional and composed under pressure
Skills & Experience
Essential
Experience in a caf , hospitality or customer-facing role (or strong transferable skills)
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to complete Food Safety training
Desirable
Previous food handling experience
Knowledge of allergen awareness
