This system will drive operational excellence across engineering, maintenance and service delivery, allowing the engineering, commercial and production specialists in the team to adopt into working practices and champion its delivery. Using deep knowledge of rolling stock engineering and maintenance, this role will work within the fleet team, TPE sister departments and maintenance partner organisations to embed a high performance culture, moving the fleets towards optimal reliability.

DELIVERY PHASE

  • Innovation & Technology: Support the adoption of digital tools, automation, and predictive analytics to future proof processes.
  • Continuous improvement methodology deployment: Introduce elements of improvement methodologies (eg. Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles) to reduce waste and improve processes and quality. Use maturity models to assess 'before and after' performance.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, maintainers, and operations teams to deliver integrated and holistic solutions to reliability challenges. Suggest improvements to supplier and relationship management to help embed the reliability improvement system.
  • Data Driven Decision Making: Develop KPIs to report on fleet performance, and monitor progress against improvement targets.

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
  • Proven experience in fleet performance/reliability improvement within rail industry
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
