It is expected that this experience will include the following: Practical knowledge and experience of bridge design, maintenance and assessment, gained from working on both construction sites and the design office; Practical knowledge and experience of project management of bridge projects; Proven knowledge in design, maintenance and supervision of structures related projects together with a track record of innovation in design and management of structures. Ideally this should include new build, maintenance, assessment and strengthening of bridges and civil structures infrastructure; Proven working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW) in relation to structural schemes; Understanding and experience of use of Eurocodes and their application to bridge design; Experience of design in or assessment of steel, reinforced and prestressed concrete bridge structures; Experience of grillage, space frame and finite element analysis software packages such as LUSAS, Superstress and SAM; Good communication, client handling and interpersonal skills are essential, plus a willingness to adapt to new challenges and to actively participate in the development of the bridges team. SUMMARY Position Title: Head of Programmes (CMDP) Mat-Cover Level: Level 6 Salary: £40, 000 - 46, 000 (FTE yearly) Reports to: Director of Programmes and Partnerships Location: The Liberation centre Brixton, London (New office in Brixton)/ Remote working within the UK with at least 2 days work from our office (Pro rata for part time) Contract: Fulltime (40hrs/weekly), fixed-term maternity cover contract for 1 year with potential for Part time (e.g., 32hrs/weekly) extension subject to funding. Hours: TAA has flexible working hours, with some expected evenings (e.g. one 9pm finish once every two weeks) and weekends due to the nature of the role. How successfully they achieve real and lasting change depends on whether they are organised and whether they have the right strategy and tactics to be effective. We want youth organising to be enshrined in the UK for generations to come, and for young people to have tangible political power to influence national policy. That s why we have launched two national coalitions, one around climate, and the other around gender. Each will train organisations across the country to become youth organisers and work together to bring 100 young people together to identify the strategy and tactics needed to achieve change. These young leaders will organise others and work collectively to build a campaign which shakes the status quo. We want youth organising to be enshrined in the UK for generations to come, and for young people to have tangible political power to influence national policy. You will be accountable for the learning design and delivery to include but not limited: Leading the design of the CMDP curriculum to agreed TAA standards engaging key stakeholders, e.g. alumni, programmes team, external partners Supporting Alumni Changemakers to design, deliver and facilitate social justice workshops in line with established pedagogical approaches at TAA. Leading the development of learning journeys for Alumni Changemakers. Working during school holidays for camps, and in the evenings to accommodate school hours, which may include regular evening work and unsocial hours during programme delivery. 3.You will be the port of call for the Changemakers and Community Organisers who will help run the programme, and a regular and trusted individual whom the young people know and can connect with. To include but not limited to: You will support the Changemakers in co-creating this space with young people in the community and helping them identify ways to bring participants along into the membership. You will be managing the Changemakers who are delivering the programme - and updating both the Community Director and Director of Programmes and Partnerships on their progress and development. You will hold the budget for the programme - keeping track of expenses and thinking through ways to keep costs down. This high mobility, site focused role is central to embedding our health, safety and environmental standards, supporting subcontract site managers and ensuring consistent, safe and high quality project delivery across a diverse portfolio.Acting as the link between Project Management, our SHEQ function and key client stakeholders, you will play a critical part in driving compliance, coaching site teams and fostering a strong, positive safety culture. Key Responsibilities Site Oversight & Standards Deliver cross-portfolio oversight of subcontract site managers, ensuring consistent behaviours, reporting and compliance. Embed Clarke Energy's HSE expectations across all live sites, maintaining rigorous standards and documentation. Conduct regular site audits, coaching sessions and behavioural observations to raise capability and drive best practice. Promote a zero tolerance approach to unsafe working practices. Health, Safety & Environmental Leadership Assist Project and SHEQ teams, as well as clients, during H&S incidents or escalations. Contribute to incident investigations, ensuring accurate reporting, timely communication and effective corrective actions. Reinforce CDM principles and safe systems of work across subcontract teams, offering competent guidance on CDM matters. Project Support & Coordination Support mobilisation and demobilisation of sites, ensuring readiness, compliance and effective inductions. Benchmark performance across projects, identifying trends, opportunities and good practice. Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries, progress photos and H&S documentation. Subcontractor & Resource Management Oversee subcontracted site management personnel across a multi site portfolio. Support onboarding and coaching of subcontract site managers, enhancing leadership capability on site. Client & Stakeholder Interface Act as a key point of coordination between site teams, clients, SHEQ and the Projects function during critical events. Support professional, consistent communication across all stakeholder groups. Represent Clarke Energy's values, behaviours and standards in customer-facing situations. Essential Qualifications & Skills Strong on-site construction experience, ideally with Principal Contractor responsibilities. Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations and site safety governance. SMSTS and CSCS (Black, Gold or White PQP) mandatory. Demonstrable experience coaching or managing people in construction environments. Confident working with subcontractors across multiple sites. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to drive standards, consistency and continuous improvement across dispersed teams. NEBOSH Level 3 qualification. Management or supervisory qualifications (e.g. ILM, NVQ Construction Management). Experience in EPC, CHP or energy sector construction projects. Audit experience (H&S, quality or process audits).
