The Opportunity

As a Senior Ecologist, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality ecological solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects.

  • Leading and delivering ecological assessments and habitat design
  • Developing practical, innovative mitigation and compensation strategies
  • Acting as Ecology Lead on projects
  • Managing projects from bid stage through to completion
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders
  • Producing and reviewing high-quality technical reports
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members

About You

We are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a passion for making a difference.

  • Good knowledge of UK ecology, habitats, and wildlife legislation
  • Experience with:
    • UKHab surveys
    • Preliminary Ecological Assessments (PEA)
    • Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA)
    • Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRA)
    • Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG)
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Experience with protected species surveys, mitigation, and licensing
  • Project management and client engagement experience
  • Membership of CIEEM (or equivalent), with Chartership (or working towards)
  • Full UK driving licence
