About the Role

We are currently working with a number of primary schools across Plymouth and the surrounding areas who are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their teams on a full-time basis.

Due to growing demand for additional support in schools, we are looking for caring and committed individuals who are passionate about helping children with special educational needs achieve their full potential-both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs
  • Support the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Encourage pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Promote engagement and participation in classroom learning
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
About You

We are looking for candidates who bring:

  • Experience working with children, ideally within an SEN or school-based setting
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Flexibility and reliability across different school environments
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
