Mechanical Assembly Technician

An exciting opportunity to join an established and growing high-tech manufacturing business is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to join its cleanroom team. This is a hands-on role focused on assembling precision UHV systems, offering the chance to work with advanced technology in a specialist environment.

Salary: Up to £30,000
Location: Lower Dicker, UK (On-site)
Full-Time Permanent

Essential Requirements:

• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering assembly environment

• Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and instructions

• Understanding of mechanical assembly and basic electrical work

• Strong attention to detail and quality standards

• Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure

• Basic IT skills (MS Office)

Desirable:

• Experience in cleanroom or high-tech manufacturing environments

• Knowledge of UHV systems, electron or ion optics

• Experience in low-volume, high-spec product manufacturing

• Exposure to precision hand fitting, wiring, and testing processes

Qualifications:

• Level 3 Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

• HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering (desirable)

• Apprenticeship or time-served background considered
