Duties of a paint sprayer
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Mix paints and colours to achieve desired shades and textures.
- Use hand tools and power tools to facilitate surface preparation and finishing tasks.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and quality expectations.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment throughout each project.
- Assist with heavy lifting of materials and equipment as necessary to support project requirements.
Requirements of a paint sprayer
- Proven experience in painting or decorating roles is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for operating equipment and troubleshooting issues.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, and sanders.
- Experience with power tools including spray guns, drills, and grinders.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail with an organised approach to work tasks.
- Good physical fitness with the ability to work in various weather conditions if required.
- Prior experience or familiarity with safety procedures related to painting activities is desirable.
