Job Description

Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs? We are currently seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive specialist school based in the Robertsbridge area.

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Location: Robertsbridge, East Sussex
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
  • Start Date: ASAP or after October half term
  • Contract Type: Long-term with the potential to become permanent

Key Responsibilities:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your role will involve:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Assisting the class teacher with tailored learning activities
  • Promoting a positive and nurturing environment for all learners
  • Helping pupils to regulate emotions and behaviour effectively
  • Providing personal care where required and encouraging independence

Requirements:

To be considered for the SEN Teaching Assistant role, you should have:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)
  • A patient, resilient and empathetic nature
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
