SEN Learning Support Assistant
Location: Salisbury
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only (Long-term)
Pay: £14.66 - £15.66 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable SEN Learning Support Assistant to work within schools across the Salisbury area. This long-term opportunity focuses on supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, learning delays, and social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
In this role, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide consistent and patient support, helping pupils to access learning, build confidence, and develop positive relationships within a structured and supportive environment.
This position is particularly well-suited to individuals with experience in SEN, care, youth work, or those looking to gain valuable experience in education, psychology, or related fields.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN
Support pupils' engagement with lessons and classroom activities
Assist with emotional regulation, confidence-building, and behaviour strategies
Help manage daily routines, transitions, and adapted learning tasks
Encourage independence and positive social interaction
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and wider support teams
We are looking for individuals who:
Have experience working with children or vulnerable individuals
Demonstrate a calm, patient, and supportive approach
Possess strong communication and teamwork skills
Are able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Are adaptable, reliable, and committed to supporting learning
Have a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
Graduates in psychology, education, or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.
