Hours: Monday to Thursday

Monday: - Tuesday to Thursday 8.00 to 14.30

Pay Rate: £15.63 per hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Barista / Catering Assistant to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages, assisting with food preparation, and supporting catering operations while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages to a high standard
• Operate coffee machines and maintain cleanliness of equipment
• Assist with basic food preparation, including sandwiches, salads, and light meals
• Support catering services for events, meetings, and functions
• Set up and clear down catering areas and service stations
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service at all times
• Handle payments using cash registers or card systems
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in line with food safety regulations
• Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels
• Follow health and safety guidelines at all times

Requirements

• Previous experience as a barista or in catering/hospitality (preferred but not essential)
• Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques is an advantage
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Good teamwork and a positive attitude
• Basic food hygiene knowledge (training can be provided)
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends if required

Desirable Skills

• Barista training or certification
• Experience in event catering or large-scale food service
• Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure
