Job Description

We are seeking applications from Registered Pharmacy Technicians currently working in Pharmacy Technical Services. We have an exciting opportunity for 1 motivated and ambitious technician to establish our Product Approver team within Swansea Bay UHB Pharmacy Aseptics.

Our aseptic units in Singleton and Morriston Hospitals deliver a high quality service to our Health Board patients and provide a wide range of injectable medicines in a ready to use form including Systemic Anti Cancer Therapies (SACT), day to day supervision, coordination and training of aseptics staff.

Main duties of the job

As an accredited Product Approver the post holder will undertake the delegated product approval and release of 'Section 10' medicines. In addition, they will join our team of accredited checking pharmacy technicians undertaking pre and in process checking activities in the aseptic suite. They will also be responsible for the day to day supervision, coordination and training of aseptics staff.

Job responsibilities

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
  • Degree in Pharmacy or pharmaceutical qualifications for pharmacy technicians compliant with the registering body (General Pharmaceutical Council) to include approved competency based qualifications and approved knowledge based qualifications.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Significant experience of working in Pharmacy Technical Services.
  • Ability to manage the day to day provision of pharmacy service within area.
  • Proven track record of competence.
  • Ability to work independently with full range of local pharmacy codes and procedures.
