An established and respected engineering consultancy with a strong presence in Northern Ireland is seeking to appoint a Senior Civil / Structural Engineer to support the continued growth of its Belfast office. The practice is known for delivering high-quality design solutions across residential, commercial, mixed-use and infrastructure projects, working closely with long-term public and private sector clients.
Your new role
As a Senior Civil / Structural Engineer, you will take a leading role in the design and delivery of a wide range of projects from concept through to construction.
You will be responsible for managing your own workload, supporting junior engineers and technicians, and contributing to technical excellence across the team. The role offers a blend of structural and civil engineering work with real autonomy and progression potential.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Structural and civil design using current design standards
- Preparation and review of calculations, drawings and specifications
- Technical leadership and mentoring of junior staffLiaison with clients, architects, contractors and local authorities
- Supporting project delivery to programme and budget
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 6+ years' relevant consultancy experience
- Working towards (or already achieved) Chartered status (ICE or IStructE)
- Strong design capability in reinforced concrete, steel, masonry and foundationsExperience using industry-standard design software
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
