Teacher of English


Location: Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales
Start Date: Immediate start to July 2026 (could become permanent for the right English Teacher.)
Contract Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3pm)

Pay: 172.98 to 200 per day (depending on experience.)

A supportive and ambitious secondary school in the Rhondda Cynon Taf is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of English to join their English department with an immediate start.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to inspiring a love of literature, language, and communication across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

ECTs/NQTs and experienced teachers are warmly encouraged to apply.



About the Role:

You will deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons, helping pupils to develop strong skills in reading, writing, and spoken communication. You will inspire learners to engage with a wide range of texts and develop confidence in their analytical and creative writing abilities.



Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Ability to teach English across KS3 and KS4
  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
  • Passion for literature, language, and literacy development
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners of all abilities
  • Commitment to raising attainment and promoting a love of reading and writing


Desirable:

  • Experience teaching GCSE English Language and Literature
  • Ability to teach KS5 English (not essential)
  • ECT/NQT applications welcome
  • Understanding of the Curriculum for Wales


Essential Safeguarding & Compliance:

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Two professional references
