Salary: £35,000 £38,000

A brand-new private members club is set to open in June 2026 in the heart of Sheffield City Centre, and we are seeking a talented and ambitious Sous Chef to be part of this exciting launch.

This is a fantastic opportunity to put your name on the map in a high-end dining environment, blending classic French brasserie influences with modern British cuisine. You ll be working with premium seasonal produce in a kitchen that prides itself on quality, creativity, and precision.

The Role

As Sous Chef, you ll work closely alongside an experienced and inspirational Head Chef, helping to deliver a refined, high-quality dining experience. From launch through to long-term success, you ll play a key role in building and maintaining exceptional standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Head Chef in leading, motivating, and developing a strong kitchen brigade
  • Taking full responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef s absence
  • Maintaining consistently high standards across all dishes, with a strong focus on presentation and quality
  • Assisting in the development of menus, combining French brasserie classics with modern British flair
  • Training and mentoring junior chefs, helping to build a skilled and motivated team
  • Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards

Requirements

We are looking for a chef who combines strong technical ability with confident leadership:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Senior CDP within a high-end or fine dining environment (essential)
  • Background in modern British cuisine, ideally with exposure to French brasserie cooking
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to inspire a team
  • Calm, professional approach with a firm but fair management style
  • Passion for high standards, consistency, and attention to detail
  • Valid UK work visa or settled status
